So what is business intelligence? Business intelligence systems or “BI” involves using computers to identify, extract, and analyze business information and data. For example, a company may want to use business intelligence to identify different revenue streams in a particular sector of the business, the net profit produced by those streams, and identifiable common characteristics of higher profit output within and outside of those streams. In plain terms, intelligence in business involves computers analyzing data.
